Text Tools
Saved typography, font evidence and source text preparation; the legacy canvas is closed.
The public artwork canvas and its typography panels are disabled. This is a reference for saved text objects and source-file preparation. PDF Tools checks existing PDF evidence; it does not currently provide the old text-box, font-upload or style-library interface.
Adding Text
New Text Box
In your owning source application, create a text area sized for the longest intended content, enter the final text and inspect line breaks. The saved text model carries content, width/height, a font definition and optional alignment/direction. A T shortcut or red overflow border is not a current product guarantee; in PDF preview, T has a different contextual use.
Font Settings
Font Selection
Choose a licensed font with the glyphs needed for the document language. Sans-serif, serif, display, handwriting and monospace are useful design categories, not proof of a 500+ font catalog. Font family names or a screen fallback do not prove the PDF has embedded the correct font.
Font Upload
The model can reference TTF, OTF, WOFF or WOFF2 font sources. It does not establish a currently available File → Upload Font workflow or unrestricted embedding rights. Verify the font license, actual export support and font evidence in the resulting PDF.
Typography Settings
Basic Formatting
Stored font properties include family, size, weight and style. Text can carry alignment, underline/line-through and direction. Use source-tool controls, without assuming old Ctrl+B/I/U mappings operate on PDF text.
Advanced Settings
The contract stores font size and optional leading/features; it does not establish the old 6–500 pt or −100…500 tracking UI range. Tracking affects overall character spacing; kerning adjusts particular character pairs. Inspect line wrapping, clipping and punctuation at final output size.
Alignment
Left, center, right and justified values are represented. They do not prove an available alignment toolbar or universal Ctrl+Shift+L/C/R/J shortcuts. Check right-to-left content and mixed-script ordering in the final PDF.
Text Styles
Creating a Style
Reuse a documented source-app style or maintain consistent family, weight, size and color in your template. There is no current Save Style control or user style library promised by the retained model.
Preset Styles
Heading 48/32/24 pt, body 12 pt and caption 10 pt can be illustrative design choices; they are not shipped presets or universal print minimums. Choose for the product, content, accessibility and supplier process.
Text Effects
Shadow
Shadow offset/blur controls are not established by the retained text contract. If applied in a source tool, inspect the PDF rendering and transparency rather than relying on the editor preview.
Outline
A decorative stroke around text differs from converting font glyphs to paths. No automatic font outlining, substitution or silent embedding is provided as a missing-font repair. Fix missing non-standard fonts at source, re-export and review; runtime font uncertainty can require proof.
Special Characters
Use the actual Unicode characters and a font that supports them. Operating-system character entry depends on OS, layout and application; old Windows Alt-number examples are not universal NowToPrint commands. Check ®, ™, ©, €, £ and language-specific glyphs in the PDF.
Test Your Knowledge
A font declaration is not embedding evidence; kerning is not general tracking; a PDF preview is not editable source text. A source correction must be exported and checked again.

Pro Tips
Keep a source copy, test longest variable values and inspect every required glyph. Do not rely on an undocumented automatic Lorem Ipsum action, red-border warning or font repair. Verify the exact file supplied for proof/production review.
