AI Price Estimate
Non-binding print price references and manual review
A price estimate is a non-binding platform reference, not an accepted print-shop quote. AI can help extract and explain project details; the price calculation uses published costing and pricing authority. Missing or unsuitable evidence can lead to Price review required instead of a number.
How It Works
- Describe the product, quantity, finished dimensions, paper, printing and finishing requirements.
- Review extracted fields and correct anything missing or wrong. AI text is not pricing authority.
- The calculation selects the applicable published reference profile and cost evidence. A cover can require separate component costing.
- When supported, review the amount, unit price, currency, range, reference label and validity time. The range comes from the profile's pricing policy; it is not a statistical accuracy interval.
- Create an RFQ for supplier review. A reference estimate does not create an order or reserve production capacity.
Estimate Factors
| Factor | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Product and production route | Determines applicable costing and reference profiles |
| Quantity | Affects materials, setup allocation and the production plan; more copies do not guarantee a lower total price |
| Paper and dimensions | Affect material use and sheet yield |
| Inner pages and cover | Can require separate materials and calculations |
| Binding, finishing and urgency | Need supported rates and applicable pricing rules |
These are inputs, not fixed percentage weights. Do not infer a missing rate from a different supplier or treat incomplete technical details as verified production facts.
Confidence Signal
The current quote-price response uses canonical, estimated or fallback confidence labels, not a 0–100% accuracy score. Its public reference calculation returns estimated, manual review required and not binding, even after the authority checks succeed. Read the stated review reasons and reference profile. A higher-looking label never authorizes production or guarantees that a supplier will quote that price.
[!TIP] Give the actual quantity, page count, dimensions, paper and binding when known. Complete information reduces ambiguity; it does not guarantee that a price can be produced.
Usage
Web Interface
- Open /en/quote and select the product, or use its explicit manual-entry choice.
- Enter and review the project details.
- If a reference estimate is available, inspect its currency, scope, range and validity.
- Continue with an RFQ to receive supplier quotes. An unavailable estimate is not a zero-price offer.
Partner API
POST /api/v1/estimate currently authenticates the partner request and then returns 503 PARTNER_ESTIMATE_CAPABILITY_UNAVAILABLE. An API key or an Enterprise label does not enable a working estimate adapter. It must not be used as a successful price-estimate example. Authentication or permission failures can occur before the capability response.
Estimate vs Final Price
The final commercial price comes from an awardable supplier quote and its accepted scope. Check shipping, tax declarations, delivery expectations and any assumptions before accepting. A change in quantity, file or specifications may require a new quote. This guide promises no fixed accuracy percentage or instant turnaround.
FAQ
Is the estimate free?
The web route supports guest and signed-in requests subject to rate limits and pricing availability. It does not offer unlimited calculations. Follow a rate-limit notice before retrying.
How accurate is the estimate?
It is a reference for discussion. Read its assumptions and review reasons, then request supplier quotes for your actual project.
What should I do after receiving an estimate?
Review the details and create an RFQ. Only an eligible exact supplier quote can proceed to acceptance under the current order gates.
