Shipping and Delivery
Current manual shipment workflow, estimate boundaries, and planned carrier integrations.
Shipping and Delivery
Current posture
NowToPrint currently records shipment information; it does not sell or operate a courier service. The supplier chooses the carrier under its own agreement and manually records the carrier name, tracking number, tracking URL, and estimated delivery date on the order. A recorded tracking event is evidence supplied by the seller, not confirmation from a carrier API.
Carrier availability, price, pickup, delivery time, customs, loss/damage cover, and insurance must be confirmed directly with the supplier or carrier before the order is committed. NowToPrint does not currently guarantee them.
Quote and order information
A quote can state whether shipping is included and can carry a manually entered shipping amount or estimate. Until the supplier confirms the booking, these values are estimate-only and are not a live carrier tariff or reservation. The commercial summary shown before acceptance is the authority for the order; an absent shipping charge is never silently replaced with free shipping.
Tracking
When the supplier records shipment metadata, the order can show:
- the lifecycle status recorded by the supplier;
- carrier name and tracking reference, when provided;
- a carrier tracking URL, when provided;
- an estimated delivery date, which is not a guaranteed delivery date.
Contact the supplier if the reference is missing or does not resolve. For a damaged or missing package, preserve photographs, delivery records, and carrier documents and open a support/dispute record. Any insurance claim follows the supplier's or carrier's contract; platform-provided automatic insurance is not currently available.
Planned capabilities
Carrier rate comparison, automatic booking, label generation, carrier-originated status updates, delivery promises, and insurance products are planned capabilities. They remain unavailable until a named provider integration has contract, security, sandbox, failure-recovery, and live evidence.
